Earlier this month, we hauled the ’93 Typhoon formerly owned by Clint Eastwood up to Mecum Kissimmee to give it a shot at crossing the block.
We had some pretty stiff competition, in the form of a mint black ’92 Typhoon with only 11k miles on the odometer that crossed the block later the same day (it ran the bidding up to $38k, but did not sell). Syclones were also very well represented at this auction, with four available for sale, one of which only had 10k miles on the odometer (it ran the bidding up to $37k, but did not sell), and another, a super-rare one-of-ten Marlboro Race Edition in red.
There was plenty of interest in our Typhoon – a lot of which we contribute to the six-foot tall cutout of Mr. Eastwood that we displayed with the truck. Nevertheless, it’s hard to say exactly how much the “Eastwood Effect” had on our sale.
All-in-all, another great time at Mecum, even if it only hit 51 degrees our first day in Kissimmee! Consultation prize: we got to meet the man himself, Dana Mecum.
